The Lady Cougars had a good night Tuesday sweeping the Olathe North Eagles in the JV and Varsity games.
In the JV game, The Lady Cougars had a balanced scoring attack and jumped out to an 11-4 1st quarter lead. Things tightened up in the second quarter as neither team had much success offensively and battled to a 4 to 4 tie which gave SMNW a 15 to 8 half time lead.
But the 3rd quarter was a different story as the Lady Cougars outscored the Eagles 19 to 7 and coasted to a 49-22 victory.
Freshman Arielle Jackson led all scorers with 9 points, Freshmen Carrie Mulder and Brooklyn Wagler added 7 a piece, Freshman Tracy Monahan and Sophomore Mikala Modiri each had 6 points, Sophomore Meghan McCluskey had 4 and Freshman Tatum Graves had 3 and Sophomore Mia Woodward had 1.
In the Varsity Game, SMNW outscored Olathe North just a little bit in each quarter to win 47-36. The Shawnee Dispatch has a quick write up on the game you can reach by clicking below:
